A collection of knitwear patterns

What a lovely addition to a summer wardrobe, heaven knows our knitting suffers when the temperature rises. Definitely going in my queue!

Ms. Adler, Take Two

I created the original boot topper which you can find here, http://herringbonedesigns.tumblr.com/post/18137377391/ms-adler, but I decided to modify for my own use and figured others might find this helpful as well.

You see, I have skinny legs. And when I say skinny, I mean skinny—think stovepipe or runway model skinny. (More calf raises??) So I thought I would modify the pattern to fit my narrow calves. It is pretty much the same as the original except that 1) I cast on fewer stitches to begin with, 2) I added ribbing periodically through the piece, 3) I used a few decreases to taper the shape slightly.

Today marks the release of my latest pattern, and an ongoing obsession on my part; boot toppers. The pattern is a simple “waffle” stitch knitted in the round with a twisted rib border on both the top and bottom edge.

Wear tucked into the top of you boots, over leggings, skinny jeans, or just with you skirt for an instantly laid back style. For a bohemian chic look, try adding lace, beading, ribbons, or fringe to the edge of your topper.
